Copyright Policy

Effective date: November 08, 2026

Duck (duck.study and the Duck iOS app), operated by Andrei Samsonov PR Novi Sad, is a language-learning tool. We respect the rights of the people who make films and TV shows, and we remove material when a rights holder asks us to.

What Duck is

Duck is a vocabulary tool: it makes flashcards that help a learner understand the shows and movies they watch, with definitions we write ourselves. Duck does not host, stream, or sell films or TV episodes; learners watch on their own services.

Titles and images

Show and movie titles, posters, and other images belong to their owners. Posters come from TheTVDB. Metadata provided by TheTVDB.

Sending a notice

If you hold the rights in a work and believe Duck uses it without permission, write to support@duck.study with the subject “Copyright notice”. Please include:

  • your name, your contact details, and, if you act for someone else, the rights holder you represent;
  • the work: the show or movie, and the season and episode where it applies;
  • the material you object to, with a link or a screenshot, or a statement that the notice covers all material from the work;
  • a statement that you believe in good faith that this use is not authorized by the rights holder or the law;
  • a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the rights holder or are authorized to act for them.

What happens next

We aim to reply within five business days. When a notice is complete, we remove the material it names. When it covers a whole work, we also stop offering cards from that work. If we need more information to find the material, we will ask you.

Your own content

Learners can also make cards from text they paste into Duck. These cards are private to the learner who made them. Paste only text you have the right to use; we may remove content and suspend accounts that infringe the rights of others, as our Terms of Service say.
